Illness & Attendance Children learn best when they are alert, fit, happy and well. The Absentee Line is 323-0455 and is available 24/7. If your child is going to be absent from school, please call the Absentee Line in the morning as early as possible.  State the child’s illness when reporting them absent.  Please keep all sick children home, especially if they have been vomiting, having diarrhea or have had a fever.  A child with vomiting or diarrhea should be kept home until the child has been symptom free for at least 24 hours and the child is able to keep... Illness & Attendance Children need to feel well to learn.  While every cold, ache and cough shouldn’t keep your child home, sometimes being in school is not wise. A frequent cough can be exhausting for your child and a distraction to the class. If your child is running a fever (100 degrees or above), has diarrhea, vomiting or an unexplained rash, they should not come to school that day.  Your child must be fever-free, without medication, for 24 hours before he/she returns to school.
